Who We Are

Mental Health Support That Puts Humanity First

At Action Therapy, we offer Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) with a human-first approach. From quick intake times to honest, supportive conversations, we focus on building real connections—not just checking boxes.

Our ARMHS program helps adults living with mental health challenges develop practical, everyday skills—like managing medications, improving communication, budgeting, and navigating daily life with more independence and confidence.

We value diversity, meet clients where they are (including in-home or community-based settings), and provide culturally responsive care. This is more than therapy—it's support that respects who you are and where you're headed.

Have a question? Check out the FAQ

What is ARMHS?

ARMHS stands for Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services. It helps adults with serious mental illness develop skills for independent living, social functioning, and daily problem-solving.

Who qualifies for ARMHS?

To qualify, clients must be 18 or older, diagnosed with a serious mental illness, and face functional impairments in areas like housing, work, or daily life. A diagnostic assessment and functional assessment are required. Clients must also have Medical Assistance (MA) to be eligible for ARMHS services.

Where are ARMHS services provided?

ARMHS is delivered in the community, in your home, or in our office—wherever is most supportive and accessible for you.

What kinds of skills does ARMHS help with?

We focus on real-life skills like budgeting, cooking, personal hygiene, medication management, transportation use, and healthy communication—tailored to your personal goals.

Do you accept insurance for ARMHS?

Yes. We accept a wide range of Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) including Blue Plus, UCare, HealthPartners, Medica, and PrimeWest. Please contact us to verify coverage.

Do I need to be in therapy to receive ARMHS?

While therapy is beneficial, you do not need to be in therapy to receive ARMHS. However, a diagnostic assessment from a mental health professional is required before starting services.

Can I switch providers if I'm not comfortable?

Yes. Your comfort and trust matter. If you'd like to work with a different ARMHS provider, we’ll help make that transition as smooth as possible.
